Chloe's First Hair cut

Maybe I am demented,.. but there are 2 things that I keep,.... for maybe a creepy reason,.. but they are,...

The Umbilical stub(Yes,.. it's just a giant scab)after it falls off,...

And

Their first hair cut pieces.

It's because they were born with those things,.. and it's a reminder to me that they were once inside me,.. I know,.. I said creepy,.. but I apparently have attachment issues.

So Chloe got her first haircut.

She was being shy, and was pretty nervous,.. she was affraid it would hurt.  Poor thing.
She came around after the cape came off and she decided pretty quickly that she is just so cute.
Whitney is a dear friend of mine from High School, and it's been so fun to keep in touch with her on a bi-monthly basis.  Whitney has been doing our family's hair since Bailey was teeny-tiny, and we let no one else touch our blonde locks,.. cause she is amazing,... My girls are trained to say,.. "Only Whitney cuts our hair" when they see scissors.  Brainwashing at it's best.

Got in the car and cried.  She looks so grown up!!

Fall 2011

I guess I am down to blogging about our SEASONS.  How pathetic am I?  Oh well!

Fall is my favorite,.. and I am trying my hardest to instill that love in my children.  So I try to do lots of fun stuff while the weather is still nice.  (and these things have NOT been in our own yard, since we spotted a tarantella and 3 baby rattle snakes,.. anyone want to buy our house?(i'm kinda for really serious.)

We went up to SpringHaven one weekend, and the canyon was STUNNING!
Raise your hand if you love Cornbelly's!
They are serious about this princess/sparkle horse business.
Bailey climbed on these tower of hay, and struck a pose.  I love her.
Bailey's black eye, and sisterly love at Gardner Village,.. our ultimate favorite Fall tradition!
Bailey LOVES having her face painted.  Chloe,... HATES it.
 My cute girls.
We got LOTS of dressing up in.  we had our annual Halloween Parade at Grandma and Grandpa Robbins.  I was getting Chloe ready and painted her face first.  When she turned around to see in the mirror,.. she started BAWLING.  She was afraid of herself.  But was alright with it all once I colored her hair.
Bailey fell right before the parade started, and Aunt Bekah had to give this little spider lots of loves.
 Cute Robbins Cousins.
They are best friend cousins, and boy are they super cute!

Our ward Trunk or Treat was fun.  I had to literally pin Chloe down to paint her face again,.. cause Halloween is for the parents, not the kids.  duh.
They were "pookie" as Chloe would say.
On actual Halloween we hung out with the Bateman's.  Ate delicious soup, and played with the cutest little lady bug around.  Not as much effort went into costumes this night,.. we(Mom) was kinda done with dressing up every night.  I didn't even document going to Daddy's office to trick or treat.  See,.. it was a little crazy how much we wore our costumes.
Even though they kick each other in the face, and give each other bruises,.. they are just the best of friends most of the time, and they sure love each other.  I am so grateful they have each other.  I am totally jealous of their relationship.  Hopefully they don't leave me out of their fun when they grow up.  I am totally going to be that mom that is like,.. "Can I hang out with you guys tonight?  I'll supply the TP!"  But then ground them when they get home.  :D

An over all up date

oooh,.. ouch,  2 months.  I was never going to be that person that didn't update their blog for 2 months.  alas.

I got lazy, assuming everyone who read this dear, neglected blog, was my friend on Facebook.  But what about that guy in Germany?  Or the one in Japan?  I haven't forgotten you guys!  So here is an update, so you may properly stalk my family.  ;)

Peter:  works like a maniac.  We are grateful that he works so hard for our family, so we can play hard also.  And by that I mean, watch our favorite shows on the couch, and dream of a time when I am not too tired to function past 6:00 pm.  ;)  I have a feeling we will be making up for lost leisure time in the coming year.  I like to go go go once I squeeze out a little one.  He is gearing up for a long trip to India, of which I am totally jealous of.  I would have FOR SURE weaseled my way into that one, if it weren't for the fetus.  He has been sporting a new little company car as of late, which I steal every chance I get, cause it's a little zippy, stick shift, and I love to drive it.  Too bad it sits so low to the ground that I can't get out of it very easily.  Mainly, he is hot, and I am madly in love with that guy.

Me:  Well,.. I spend my days growing another life,.. he is a rutabaga this week.  (what the heck is a rutabaga?)  I am growing at exponential speeds,.. unimaginable really.  Okay,.. 10 lbs in 25 weeks,.. I can't really complain.  A funny little story,.. My dad was REALLY worried about my weight gain(forgetting that I was pretty fat before little surprise baby implanted in my uterus) and in all seriousness,.. asked me if I had "Vaginal Diabetes".  Now before you all think my dad is AWEFUL, I need to mention 2 little things,.. one,.. he is no doctor, thus the mix up of terminology, and two,.. he was very sweet, and 100% concerned for my health.  All he knew was that only women got it(hence the female anatomy term) and it was a for of diabetes.  So after a few days of hysterical laughter every time I thought about it,.. I double checked my weight gain with my Dr.  All is well.    So that leads to,.....

Fetus:  Okay,.. he has a name,.. I just like calling him, what he is,.. a fetus.  Oh,.. did I ever even announce on here,... He is in fact a HE?  I know,.. it's crazy,.. I am having a hard time adjusting to the idea of Blue, and plain, and not pink and bows.  HE will be named Cyrus Talmage Robbins.  I know,.. maybe a little strange to some,.. but Cyrus is a family name, and if you knew the stories of this ancestor, you would all be proud to name your son after him too.  We will call him Cy.  Cy Robbins,.. total football player.  Love it.  He is 25 weeks today, and healthy as can be.  We couldn't be more happy, or feel more blessed.  His sister's are going to smother him,.. Bailey out of love, and Chloe out of,.. well,.. spazziness.

Bailey:  This girl.  She is all sass.  I know i have said this before, but I can't imagine what her as a teen is going to be like,.. because her attitude is OUT. OF. CONTROL.  She likes to tell me what to do, and how to do it.  If you think I listen, you forgot that I have a pretty big attitude of my own.  There is ONE mamma in this house, and it is NOT Bailey.  She is LOVING school, and doing extremely well, of course.  I only have the smartest, most beautiful children on the planet.  She is learning spanish in her class, and likes to tell me all about it.  She frequently makes up words like,... "charladee mom, that's spanish for please move".  And you better not argue with her, cause that's what her teacher taught her.  The other morning I was still in bed, and she came in to ask me something, at which point I tried to talk her into snuggling with me, and she said, in a very demanding voice, "Mom, It's morning, and in the morning, when the sun is up, we get up, we wake up,.. so Buenos Dias Mom,.. Now GET UP!"  How do you argue with that?  You don't, you drag your pregnant butt outta bed, and make breakfast.

Chloe:  Is hilarious.  She is a tough one to be a parent to.  I probably let her get away with WAY too much, but I sometimes I can't help but just turning my back and laughing.   She is a VERY good actress, and LOVES to make believe.  Her and Bailey will play upstairs for hours, and Chloe always plays the mommy, and calls Bailey sweetheart, and just plays it up.  Bailey tells her she is "alarious" all the time.  She has a tiny little lisp, and it mostly melts my heart.  It's just her S's and she says them, well in a traditional lysp sorta way.  She has NO desire to potty train, but I am determined to use Santa/Christmas as a bribe on that one.  Yes, I am evil.  She is VERY jealous that Bailey gets to go to class, and dance, and she doesn't.  Next fall will be wonderful for her.  Chloe likes to jump off of everything she possibly can.  The other day she decided to jump off the coffee table in tights and did a belly flop on the floor.  Poor thing.  She is super accident prone, most everything it taken to the face,.. so she either looks like a porcelain doll, or looks like she is severely beaten.  I keep thinking she is going to learn she can't wear my shoes down the stairs,.. but she hasn't.

So that is us in a nut shell.  The next few months will be pretty crazy, as the holidays always are,.. but getting ready for a new baby, I'm sure will make things a tad bit more crazy.  Hopefully I will be a better bogger, and not because Peter won't stop snoring, and keeping me awake.  :D  Here are our new family pictures, to go with my Christmas Card like blog post!  Enjoy! p.s. thank you Rachel Clarke,.. you are the greatest!!!

Shameful

I am a bad person,.. I looked at my sad, neglected blog, and said to myself, I don't have anything to blog about, so I scrolled through our pictures from the summer(which I was awful at being a photographer this summer anyway) and there is SO much I could/SHOULD blog about!  So just a little re-cap of our summer,..

We spent a WHOLE week at Aspen Grove with Peter's family, at Family Camp, and it was A.W.E.S.O.M.E!!  Bailey and Chloe went to class everyday and Peter and I took naps, read books, played in the pool, truly relaxed!
Bailey and Eve in the Pool
On the last day I went to get Bailey from Class, and she was PASSED OUT on the mat.  They came home tired, and mom and dad came home rested.  Talk about VACA!!
We came home to a new set of cousins, and LOTS of fun things to do!  We went to Thanksgiving Point.
This is my sister Deb.  She Cracks me up.  She is a total farmer girl,.. this cow is meant for little kids to try milking,.. but the boss had to get in there and show them how to REALLY do it.
I was trying to show Bailey and Reina a sheep or something, and I turn around to find Deb's new man.  She was totally crushing on this little cow.  I'm serious, she was having a full on conversation with him, and scratching him, it was love at first sight for her.
Both the girls got to ride the horses, and Bailey LOVED it!  Chloe wouldn't look at the camera, hence no picture.
We dropped Deb off at the air port, left a sick daddy at home with Strep Throat, and went straight to Montana for Auntie Capri's wedding. This was the only picture I have of the wedding,.. and it wasn't even the wedding,.. Just Chloe wearing Grandpa Dave's shoes.
After a week in Billings,.. Mamma getting Strep Throat, and probably the worst emotional time of my whole life, we were off to Yellowstone for 4 days.  And I just wanted to go home.  But Bailey and Spencer were excited to see each other.  Please don't turn them in for picking flowers,.. even though they would look really cute in black and white stripes.
 Cheese.
Old Faithful is NOT exciting for a 4 year old.  In fact I believe the words uttered were "was that it mom?"  Yeah,..... it was a LONG week.  We did a LOT of waiting, and a LOT of really cold sleeping, and a LOT of tears on my part.  Sorry family,.. you can blame the fetus,.. even though you won't want to cause he will just be way too cute.
And finally an ode to my sweet daddy.  He met up with us in Yellowstone, and he is just so cute.  MAN i love him.  He is pretty quirky, and his outfit of choice is FUB.U.LOUS!  Honestly, I seriously love him!  Look at that Gap in his teeth!?  Sweet man!

Cute Sweet Girls

The Disney Channel showed Beauty and The Beast the other day, and I recorded it, out of convince, just so I had it on my DVR.   Yesterday, we decided that would be an okay show for the girls to watch and turned it on.   Bailey was fairly frightened by the beast(I guess it's been a while since she has watched it) and Chloe LOVED it.   We watched it together as a family,.. Peter likes to pretend to be Gaston,.. and he is really good at the part when he says "and every last inch of me's covered in HAIR!!"   surprisingly accurate.(and I LOVE it!)   I just love to sing the songs,.. even though the girls get really mad and throw things at me.
Well the part comes where the Beast catches Maurice (Bell's dad) in the castle, and Bell comes to save him, and then she takes his place as the Beasts prisoner. The Beast takes Maurice and throws him in the enchanted carriage and returns him to his home in the village.   Well Chloe runs over to me with BIG alligator tears in her eyes, and says "come back!   Dat Daddy come Back!!"   and just looses it, sobbing.   Poor thing, was just broken hearted that Bell's daddy had to leave and that the Beast was so mean to him.

She wanted to watch the movie again this afternoon,.. and had the same reaction.

Yes,.. she did also tell me today "I punch you in the face mom".   So she is tender hearted, and violent.  I don't know where in the world she learned that,.. but Bailey does tell people I spank them in the face, everyday! A story told by Aunt Rachel when the girls stayed with them while we were on our Cruise.  Chloe made a big mess one morning, and Bailey took it upon her self to spank her sister,...... in the face and when Rachel asked her what she did and why,.. Bailey said "but my mom ALWAYS spanks her in the face when she makes a mess, EVERYDAY!

Bailey had a funny thing this morning too.  I walked in the living room just in time to watch Bailey dump her garbage behind the couch, and so after a sharp talking to by dear old mom, she started to cry and said "But Mommy, you are so Beautiful!!"  After laughing for a second I gave her a hug and some brownie points.  Talk about knowing how to diffuse a situation and make your mom fall in love with you all over again and forget why they were mad!  This girls a pro!!

My girls just crack me up and through all the fighting, hair pulling, naughty word talking, mess making, food slinging, juice spilling, serious damage making,...... I am seriously in love with them.

The Fetus

So,.. to catch the world up on the happenings of this cute little fetus twisting like a tornado in my uterus,..

As afore mentioned I got pregnant with an IUD.  And also that it will be "High Risk".  So that basically means that I get to have an ultrasound every month(i'm not complaining) and that's about it.  I should keep my activity level kinda low,.. which means that I will just continue to grow and grow and by the Super Bowl, and delivery come around I will be easily mistaken for the Goodyear blimp,.. It's tragic.  So far, the baby looks great, and the IUD is keeping it's self in a low risk place,.. all good signs.  I am 13 weeks 4 days(today) thus making my due date February 12, 2012.

Bailey is INSISTING that it is a "he",.. and there is a baby "brover" in there,.. which would be nice,.. but let's face it,.. I do NOT know what to do with a boy,....  really,.... What is there to do?  No bows?  Or bracelets?  Or dresses?  What do they even wear?  So as exciting as it would be to have a boy,.. I think I'll be relived if it's female and we can keep on this pink parade a little longer.

Seriously,.. Jock straps, smelly socks, pee pee tee pees, wieners, hair cuts, Yeah,.... this is all a little much for me.  I might need some serious help.

I have had a hard time letting myself get too attached to this little bundle of joy.  With the term "High Risk"  I have just kind of pushed my emotions to the side, to try and avoid the break down if something happened.  It just seems easier to not plan in it working out, than to get attached.  I still don't imagine Christmas 8 months pregnant, or having a new born during the spring time.  So as much as I don't want to admit it, I guess I am just sounding cold hearted.  I think the other thing that has assisted in my denial is that this pregnancy has been SOOO different than Bailey and Chloe.  I have only thrown up 3 times, and haven't been nauseated at all. I haven't felt tired during the day hardly at all.  So in other words,.. compared to the girls,.. I haven't FELT pregnant.  I am always surprised that there is really something in there at my appointments.

Don't let me lead you astray here,.. I'm excited about this little baby!!  I am just having a hard time wrapping my mind around it all.  Peter and I couldn't be more excited.  The girls,.... well Bailey is STOKED(Chloe is clueless).  And we understand and thank the Lord for this little blessing every day!!
