Cy made his grand debut On February 1st at 1:04 pm. Weighting a healthy 7lbs 8oz.
I woke up on Wednesday morning at around 6am, and went to the bathroom,... Like I always do. Then at around 7:30 I woke up to a wet bed. Clear, odorless fluid. I SWEAR my water broke. So I drove myself to the hospital while Peter got the girls up, and dressed, while I waited to hear if it really was amniotic fluid. Which,... It wasn't (I still don't believe it). So they called Dr Haskett to make sure I could go home, and he waltzed into my triage room and said,.. "Do you want to have a baby today?" I had a good, long day of last minute errands planned,.. But one day less of being pregnant,... Way too enticing! So he planned to come back during his lunch to deliver Cy. AWESOME!!! So, I made some phone calls, moved to a labor and delivery room, and about the time Peter got the girls to my sister in law and got our bags all packed, and got to the hospital,.. It was pretty much time to roll.
They got got the IV in, and my lovely hair net on, and off we went. It was so casual and routine to everyone in the room,.. It totally calmed my nerves. The nurse anesthetist was really funny, and cracking jokes, Dr Haskett made sure the Killers would be an okay band to bring my baby into the world with,.. Brandon Flowers works for me! As soon as I could smell burning flesh, they brought Peter in, in his awesome jumpsuit, with a hair net(? Really?) and the tugging started. Dr Haskett announces, "good thing we scheduled a c-section, this boy is breech anyway!". Some more tugging and weird pressure and he was out. It seems like it took FOREVER for him to cry,.. But once he did, I started crying. I couldn't wait to see his face, and kiss his cheeks! Peter went over to see him, and check on him. He was sure beautiful and of course, I was INSTANTLY in love with him! Peter however sat back down, and looked like a ghost. The room got worried about him, and kind of usered him out with Cy. Peter said that when he turned around with the nurse, to bring Cy to me, it hit him that my abdomen was open and I was laying on a operating table, and it made him sick. (his weak stomach cracks me up). So they leave and Dr Haskett starts the process to find this infamous IUD. It was AWEFUL. Just imagine: being awake and knowing the dr's arm is inside your abdomen, digging around for a foreign object. Talk about motion sickness. I totally barfed. I really wanted them to knock me out,..but no luck. So they kept diggin,.. No luck. They called and got an x-ray,... No IUD in the x-ray. They made it sound like the x-ray wasn't a very good shot,.. So they sewed me up. I will have another x-ray in a few weeks and IF it's there,.. I will get to have another surgery once I am all healed up from this. Awesome. That dang IUD is just bound and determined to never be found. But MAN am I glad the IUD didn't work,.. Cause this boy is just amazing!!
We are so glad he is here. The girls have been super cute and sweet. They got to come meet him that night. They walked in and of course looked at him, kissed on him, said how cute he is,.. And then Chloe immediately asked to watch a movie on the iPad, and Bailey started in with the questions.
"Can I see your owie? is that apple Juice? (in reference to the catheter bag) Why do you have that thing in your hand? (IV). What was the surgery like? Does Cy have a pointy Pee Pee? What are these things on your legs?(the compression sock things) and on and on and on. She cracks me up! she has just been a little mommy to Cy. She won't leave him alone. Which is fine because she is gentle, and sweet. Chloe has been pretty leery of Cy. I think I lectured her too much about things NOT to do to her brother. She finally held him on Sunday. And she kissed him, and then said,.. He's too heavy mom! And was done. Silly girl. She has asked to hold him a few more times the last few days, it doesn't last long, and it always ends with "He's too big mom!"
We are totally Obsessed with this little man. He is so sweet, and amazing. He sleeps through all the high pitched screaming and craziness of the girls. In fact his sleeping has been AMAZING! Our first night home wasn't much fun,.. he wanted to eat every 45 minutes. From there on out, he usually goes down at like 11(only because I snuggle him until then) and he wakes up at 2:30 or so, and again at 6:30. He is amazing! His addition to our family couldn't be more welcomed, or more joy filled. We've(meaning I) have a big learning curve ahead of me. And I can't wait. Life is such an adventure, and I'm lovin' it. Granted, my mom just left today,.. I might be singing a different tune on Monday! ;)
