I went through this a little while ago and decided if I can be a positive force on the internet, why not share myself with the world? Good luck with your decision. Invite me if you do.
I've never heard of any dangers or risks coming from having it public. You might lose some of your readers because they'll feel weird asking for an invitation.
I think...no. Only because when people are private I tend to not read their blogs as often. and I think everybody would benefit from reading your blog. but...I see the other side too... either way, I love your stinkin guts!!
Don't go private. I am computer illiterate sometimes and can't figure out how to get on private blogs. I don't know what my problem is. And your blog is too funny not to read!
I like being private. But I also know that it's not for everyone. I like having the power to pick and choose who I want to read my private life. Leaving your blog public allows people from the past/present find you by blog surfing which can always be fun. It's a tough decision, and I wish you luck.
Private, Private, Private...... My dear. Private is so nice because you are in control of every component of your blog. Not only what you write but also who reads it. Then your personal information wont get into the wrong hands (which at this point the possibilities are endless) You could always try it out and decide for yourself. Or just be peer pressured.... bahaha private, private, private
I switched to private cause I was worried as well. and now have switched back cause you can only invite 100 readers. ANd I had to leave some people out. So, I feel fine with not being private again.
Tough call. It is nice knowing who is reading your blog and not worrying about posting too much personal information (the kind people could use to hurt you... not TMI stuff). On the other hand it can be kind of lame b/c a lot of people do have a hard time figuring out how to access private blogs. Sometimes I wish we weren't private but on the other hand, I think it's good for us right now.

I grapple with the same question...
If you go private, make sure you invite me!

I say private...why cuz I am and then you don't have to worry any more. I kept debating forever and am very glad I did.
