Get it,.. Swine+whiner=Swhiner!? I know I am HILARIOUS! I crack my self up!
I am SOOOOO sick of hearing about "Swine Flu" and H1N1,.. I know it's real, and I am sure that someone who reads my blog has had it.
So correct me if I am wrong, because I haven't caught the DEATHLY disease,.. but is it really like the end of the world, and you are pretty much on your death bed?
From what I have kind of heard, it's really not THAT bad. I was reading on KSL today and they posted a little thing about there being 4 more deaths in Utah from the Swine Flu,... When am I going to start hearing about the number of deaths from the regular seasonal Flu? Is it REALLY that much worse?
Have you ever gotten the Flu FROM the flu shot? I have,.. and decided,..I am never doing that again. I am sure that it's not a surprise to anyone that we are forgoing the shot. (I know SHOCKER!) Of course I don't want to get it,.. and I REALLY don't want Chloe to get it, but I think that if we did get it,.. we will live, and not have life altering effects from having it. The CDC admits they haven't tested it very much. "I" don't want to put that stuff in my body, and really don't want it in my babies' bodies.
So there is my rant for the day. Feel free to comment how you would like,.. but know that I think Obama is good for nothin', and so are his economic "saving" policies, and HEALTH CARE,.. Oh HEAVENS,.. that's a whole nother BLOG to get me going on that. We are in for it people!

You can't get the flu FROM the shot. It is impossible. But you can be exposed to the flu around the same time you got the shot.
Swine flu isn't really that bad, it is just different from what we normally see... the regular flu tends to cause death in elderly and the sick, etc. etc. Where the swine flu is hitting babies and healthy adolescent generation, and it just stays around for a long time. It isn't the swine flu that kills people it is the prolonged fever, and secondary infections, yada yada yada.
Whoa! Stop me, I am going on and on.... but I definetly feel the same way! Geez if people could talk about God and religion the amount they are talking about this swine flu it would change our nation into a completely differen't story.

so you asked how the swine flu feels. i'd explain it the same as my infectious disease professor explaned it...like getting hit by a bus and surviving! it sucks. but i do think there is a lot of huff about it. it's new, it's effecting the people from 21-35 more than the normal flu, and it's causing the immunosuppressed and certain age groups to die. since i'm considered immunosuppressed and i don't want to die...well, let's just say i want the research and huff to go on!
i'm sorry you got the flu after getting the shot. that's no fun! but it wasn't the shot..you were just the unlucky one that had to get a poke in the arm and already had the bugs lurking around! no fun at all.
i fully support your obama comments. i don't want health reform. i don't believe we need it. what we need is more education for preventive medicine. but like you said, that's a whole nother topic for a whole nother time!

I had it two and a half weeks ago and it WAS AWFUL... it really did feel like getting hit by a bus (not that I ever have lol), along with a fever of 103 that lasted for 3 days, and I really just layed there because I couldn't do anything. My baby had to stay at my mom's for a week and if there's one thing I know- I pray that no one's children get it :( After you're down with that for a week, then you get a cold... with a lot of people it turns into bronchitis or pneumonia. It's a lot of respiratory crap- it really just sucks. I'm still coughing. Anyhow, that's my ranting.
On a different note, are you guys going to that Halloween party???
I don't think you can get the flu from a flu shot. You can have some symptoms but they're milder than the regular flu. Anyway, I am one that has been ranting and raving about the swine flu vaccination because it is so hard to get! It was rediculous. But personally, I think it is worth it to be vaccinated especially since I am pregnant and at higher risk. Savanna and I were both vaccinated for it. I don't know of any negative effects from it besides having a sore muscle. And some people that get swine flu say it's not that bad and others say it's awful. In my opinion, "why would I want to take the chance to get it?" There are people that have died from it. And honestly if Chloe got it being so young I know it would be scary. But anyway, I love you Amanda even if I don't agree with you-hope this doesn't offend you. I just feel really strongly about it in my own way too and wanted to share my viewpoint.
I have the same opinion as you do! I feel like they didn't test it enough. What do you think about the mist?? I hear people like that a lot more.
By the way I am also sick of hearing about health care too???? Why does 85% of us have to suffer to insure those that one don't want to be insured and two are illegal in our country!
ok, well I think you already know my feelings about the swine flu, but I will say it again! I think it is a government conspiracy ment to make us all freakazoids!!!! I have had many, many friends, and um practically all my family memebers have gotten it and we have all been just fine.....it really does effect different people differently just as any other common cold or flu does, last year I got such a horrible flu that I was hospitilized for a whole day, it was no swine flu, just a normal flu going around that really took a toll on me. if it hits some people like a bus it is probobly because of a secondary infection or bug they got. And yes I have heard from friends who work in the medical field who say you CAN get sick from flu shots.....what do you think a flu shot is anyways? It is a small dose of the flu!!! Hello!!! I also would just like to add that Obama isn't even vaccinating his kids from the swine flu! Oh, and I also just heard tonight that the swine flu actually hit the states around the 70's so a lot of people over the age of 40 are less likley to get it. How come we all the sudden have forgotten about things like RSV and the croop.....that is way worse and much longer lasting..... QUIT BELIEVING THE MEDIA PEOPLE!!!!! IMMUNIZATIONS ARE NOT ALWAYS GOOD, ESPECIALLY FOR PREGO WOMEN! Everyone is forgetting also about some drugs given to prego women in the not so long ago past that they didn't test well(like the swine flu vaccination) and their babies ended up with flippers instead of hands and feet!
Ok, I think I am done, but really Amanda I LOVE your stand on this issue!!!! and remember my opinion is coming from someone who has been around people with the swine flu for over 8 weeks now!
I just have to say too that I have been exposed for many weeks to this swine flu and I have yet to come down with it, I think it is because of my awesome immune system! I swear by Airborne (the vitamin pill invented by a school teacher) it has a ton of vitamin C and other great immune boosting stuff! I also am an extreme handwasher and hand sanitizer user....very important when out in public! People are horrible about cleaning their hands and if we all just would be a little more clean it would go a long way! I seriously hardly ever get sick! oh, and I try hard to get enough sleep (very hard with two kids) but I try, and I also drink vegetable juice! To top it all off I take along with my two year old, a gummy princess vitamin everyday! Try it! I swear it will help you stay healthy!
Amanda you are just asking for it when you put up a picture like that on your blog...there are a billion comments I would like to put about that very flattering picture of yourself in this post I seriously don't know where to begin but I will say that I prefer this picture of you over all the other ones that you have used in the past, I would definately recommend it for your christmas card people actually MIGHT display that one...thats still a BIG might
